Paper and Plastic PromotionalPlate charges
Plate charges are $2.00 (G) per square inch of plate material used. Ink and foil designs require 1 plate per color, per side. Plates are free for ink designs on all paper products except paper bags.
Use the chart below to determine the cost per plate. Determine the correct charge by measuring the dimensions of each color in your design. Use the longest distance for each dimension. We will quote the plate charges for process print designs.

Plate charge example
Step 1: Measure the dimensions of each color in your design. Use the longest distance for each dimension.
Step 2: Multiply the dimensions for each color. This will give you the size of each plate.
Example: Your design is two colors: red and blue. The dimensions for the red portion of your design are 8×12. The dimensions for the black portion of your design are 2×8. Therefore:
- Plate 1: 8×12 = 96 square inches = plate size for the red portion of your design
- Plate 2: 2×8 = 16 square inches = plate size for the black portion of your design
If this design is applied to both sides you will have four plates. Two for the red portion of the design and two for the black portion of the design.
Step 3: Multiply the size of each plate by $2.00 (G). This will give you the cost per plate. Remember, the minimum charge for each plate is $35.00 (G). Add the costs of all plates to determine your total plate charge.
Example:
- Plate 1: 96 x $2.00 (G) = $192.00 (G)
- Plate 2: 16 x $2.00 (G) = $32.00 (G)
Plate 2 will cost $35.00. This is our minimum plate charge.
$192 + $35 = $227.00 (G)
The total plate charge for this design is $227.00 (G). If the design is applied to both sides the charge will be $454.00 (G).
